It'd just die.
At best having 2 copies of the same thing just gives them a bit more resistance to genetic damage.
Actually it'd probably just spit the extra stuff out into another cell once it starts to divide again.

Okay so I am not a science geek, thats my dad who is the chemist, but could they use this to stop sells from dieing? In this case, could they use this to increase the life span of humans?
That would be some real cool shit, either way this is some crazy ass shit, hell perhaps the cure for cancer in all forums, that would be wonderful.
