Which would be better for running EQ2?
1) 2.0 GHz Pentium 4 w/ 1 gig RAM
or
2) 2.4 GHz Celeron w/ around 700 MB RAM

I have a 933mhz thunderbird athlon with a gig of ram built by alienware.
I am VERY impressed that it runs painkiller... doom3 and Farcry the way it does. It doesnt barely run them.... it runs them well.
This is in comparison to a 2.70Ghz celeron that I have built by dell with 512mbs of ram...
of the two systems which do I use for gaming?
the first one...
The celeron takes a back seat to my amd..... I think these two chips are comparable because look at the mhz of my amd and the brand of pentium...
Amd is far supperior imo for gaming.... Unless you get into the real high dollar setups ie dual chips etc .

Celeron is the biggest peice of shit ever made. Celeron is fine if you are working on Word or other shit, anything that really needs processer use then get Pent or AMD.
Personaly I have a 3500+ 64 Bit AMD, A8V Delux Asus Motherboard which has 2000 FSB, 80gig 8 MB Buffer WD hard drive, 1 gig of 400Mhz ram, and using my old 128 GeFroce 4800 Vid Card and it runs smooth as a babies behind! Oh and just built this on Sunday so it's a sweet machine.

AMD for a gaming machine. Until Intel integrates it's FSB on the core of the processor like AMD did with it's 64's and FX's, it'll never be as fast.
