People who have read this book, can you help me out and give some opinions?

Think of two symbols in the book. Explain what they meant to you, and what they meant to Holden.

Holden is on a journey of faith. How would you explain what critics mean when they say this?

thanks guys

THIS, Is what is wrong with todays society! People are lazy! They can not ever do anything themselves. Always wanting a piggy back. When I was a kid if I pulled something like this, my parents would of switched me good. Son do it yourself, because in life you are the only person who can do anything for you.

This is the kind of "n****r" that makes us black people look bad. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm glad you guys can enjoy Catcher in the Rye. It's no coincidence you're the same age as the protagonist. I found the book pretty underwhelming, since whiney b*****s like him have been getting laughed at by Yours Truly since I was 5 years old. Yes, I remember the day.

Yes, I remember that day.
Oh, what a wonderful day.
We would play and play
The sun, the sky,
And clubbing weirdos
Be they black or gay.

This is the problem with forcing children to read books that they don't want to. They end up cheating or asking for the answers because the book didn't inspire them enough for them to do the work themselves. I was forced to read my share of books in high school and guerss what? I don't remember shit from any of them, especially "Crime and Punishment" and "Beloved".

Maybe schools should just do book reports and let the kids pick what they want to read, or maybe have a choice of like 30 classics and make the kids choose 5, etc.

My 8th grade teacher, Mrs. Moody (I think), let us pick whatever books we wanted to. I read Cujo! It was awesome and scary. I got an A. After that, I did drugs and raped B-cup brunettes.
