How does it make sense, exactly? I'm referring, of course, to the ridiculous scheduling system that lets you know when and where a siege will be held, so you can concentrate your defenses on that point and leave all your other castles undefended? Can someone explain the reasoning behind this one to me?

Sure. You see, the thing is that a "realistic" siege system – in which the attacking alliance can surprise the defending alliance and hit their least defended spot – makes no sense in MMO RPG terms. People need to be online to take part, and they need to organize this effectively. Thus, the time system. If you have a better idea, I'd like to hear it.
