I am not a total newbie when it comes to EVE but it seems that there are still a lot of things I don't know about this game. A friend has told me yesterday that it's possible to build your own station in EVE - I didn't have a clue about this. I'm still not sure that this is true.
Anyone cares to explain this to me?

Well your friend wasn't lying. I'm just surprised that you didn't come across some POS before. Anyway, you should know that it's not an easy thing to do since it is really costly. You need at least 25 billion ISK for it so I think it'll be a long time before you can even start thinking about it.
