I have a bunch of footage on my Sony Mini DV camcorder that I want to burn to DVD.
I started to import it through Adobe Premiere and after about an hour I realized it was going to take fuckloads of time. Sure I'd like to break the shit up into chapters (or scenes whatever you want to call it) make menus and all that wuwu shit, but not if using Premiere is the only way to get that done.
Anyone know of a way/program(s) that I can use to accomplish this somewhat quickly? It doesn't have to be ultra fancy, and if just doing raw dumps is my only option then so be it.
Also if there is a program that will record video and allow me to do other shit that would be so the win. In Premiere while you're recording if you even so much as click away it stops the recording.
Thanks in advance.

There are gobs of video editing apps out there that will capture your video.
Movie Maker comes with XP and it will do the basics. Look elsewhere to convert it to DVD format, though.
I hear Pinnacle Studio is the best cheap solution. Sony Vegas, Nero are other alternatives.
By the way, working with video is dog slow, no matter what app you use. Capturing, editing, authoring, transcoding - they all take forever.

Yea I know it's slow to do it, I used to do it for a living. I haven't touched it in years however so I thought I'd ask.
Biggest thing I'd like is a program that will capture and allow me to do other shit on my PC while I do that.

I have a decent machine, but when I'm capturing video I shut every other app off and leave the machine alone. You touch the machine and the capture doesn't stop with any of the apps I mentioned, but frames get dropped.
