Yes, the next game in the Call of Duty series is coming, and guess where it is set; the most boring part of World War 2: the Pacific, fighting Jap's. Yet they seem to have spruced it up quite a bit.

Links to information about the game:

Also, the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QB9ApSJ9nJo

Infinity Ward won't be developing this meaning that, like Big Red One and other Call of Duty titles that weren't made my Infity Ward, will be of poor standard.

Thanks for the info, moving this to News section as it is big news. Apparantly they will be using the same physics engine as COD 4. I cant fault COD 4 at all, except perhaps i'd like to have had a longer single-player. Only thing i dont like is it being WWII, played so many of them its getting boring, they could have picked something fictious like war in eastern europe, would have been a nice change.

I totally agree with Odus. I dont know how the game play will be but i do not understand after seeing the reaction on Call of DUTY 4 Modern Warfare why they would go back to WW2. It just doesnt make sense. We will have to wait and see what its like.

This game preview looks great. But i realy did not want to go back to ww11.The should of have stayed modern times.Adn the online is not gonna be the same. You are going on mission with other players.

I think Call of Duty 5 will be terrible. The game itself may be good, but I think the online will be terrible.

I think they've got excited cos number 4 was a big hit and so they've rushed into the next one. Also again it's based in WW2, something they should be staying away from.

yeah cod5 will be a huge hit but only because of cod4, and i totally agree that cod4 is the best fps on xbox by far, but will cod5's WW2 theme make COD4 still the more favoured?

Yeah but knowing COD they can turn anything into fun.

I was skeptical when the idea for modern warfare first came out (so much technology and tanks and planes these days how could infantry be any fun?)

But they pulled through

Looks Cool but compared to the Modern technological Weapons Used in Call of duty 4...going back to old weapons and stuff seems a bit dull for me....still undecided on whether i want it or not!!

Lack of Infinity Ward input makes me skeptical that CoD5 will be any good.

but...i've eard that they have already prepared a new patch to Cod4...so it's useless that patch if there are Cod5...or this Cod5 is just one add-on to Cod4?

As stated above, the WWII setting is sort of boring, however COD4 was decent so I am sure this will be decent.

I personally cannot wait for the release of this game.

Expectations are high in my opinion, CoD4 blew me away on a FPS level, hoping CoD 5 will do that much and more.
