CBS, Warner Bros. announce plans for new network to debut in September.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) - Warner Brothers and CBS Corp. announced plans Tuesday for the creation of a new broadcast television network, called CW, that would replace the WB and UPN networks in the fall of this year.
The new broadcast network will draw on programming from both WB and UPN, and will be a joint venture between Warner Bros. and CBS (Research), with each company owning 50 percent, officials of both companies.
WB's 'Gilmore Girls' will be one of the shows on the new CW network, officials said.
"This new network will serve the public with high-quality programming and maintain our ongoing commitment to our diverse audience," said Les Moonves, the chairman of CBS, in a statement.
Prime time programming will target the profitable 18-34 age group, officials of Warner and CBS said.
The new network will broadcast such UPN shows as "America's Next Top Model," "Veronica Mars" and "Everybody Hates Chris," as well as WB programs "Beauty and the Geek," "Smallville" and "Gilmore Girls."

I wouldnt say that, BET is and UPN mostly is but WB hasn't for a long time and let's face it you can claim MTV is geared towards blacks but it's white people mostly watching those shows, they watch the rap videos they watch pimp my ride and the buy the goods.
WB is geared toward 18 -35 all races but honestly most are white.
UPN tried to go urban but failed, jumping from black shows, to star trek to wrestling it was a bad mix still i think their target was 18 to 35 males except for top model which became a hit.
BET is specific made just to be made at a time when it was good to have, I admit it's usless now but with so many bad stations i rather see many go before BET.
MTV is 18 to 25 easy, black people on a show does not make it cator to blacks.

I don't even watch those channels any more. I normaly watch Spike, Sci-Fi, HBO, Showtime, or Stars. Very rarely do I watch any local channel besides to catch the news.
I used to watch Smallville, but stopped, havn't even bothered to TiVo it. He is getting a bit to old and needs to move out already, and they need to start up Justice League already with all the new super hero's they are introducing.

I just started Tivo'ing Smallville and they made a joke at the JL. Aquaman came on the show and they worked together to stop some fish killing weapon or something. Aquaman was like we work well together we should start a Junior Lifeguards of America, and Clark was all like I'm not ready for the JL yet and I WAS LIKE L-O-L. (not really).
I kinda like smallville though, maybe cuz I just started watching it, but I think it was rather funny to see him encounter **** as a normal guy then be afraid of killing Lana when he got his powers back. It will remain DVR'er and watched in spurts.

I watched Smallville from the start and it was good, now it has it's good seasons and it's bad seasons. Some are damn good where you have to watch every damn show then you have an entire season that blows hard. One of the best shows though was when they had Flash show up, the one that is Teen Titans now, don't remember his name, who is the fastest Flash ever and the smartest. That was good.
The whole shit with Lana having the tat on her back and having some ancient witch take over her body had me crying cause it was so lame. But the alltime shittest eposide I watched was when they were in Japan or some shit and Lana became a Kung-Fu expet like in the old school Kung-Fu mvoes. I still have a few friends who watch it and they let me know some shit going on in the show.
Well there is a romor or was one of the JL show coming out after they can Smallville, that is one of the reasons they are starting to show all these other guild star Super Hero's. The last season I watched he finnaly got into 12th grade and started to play foot ball. Maybe I should give it another chance, but last time I watched it was just sad.

You wont see "Superman" on smallville maybe on the final episode you might see him about to put it on or about to receive it from his mom (if they keep that story from the comic books).
I think it has 2 more seasons after this but i do know for a fact we wont be seeing "superman" on smallville.

I loved that, and of couse Aquaman was wearing his colors the whole time. I think they have done an excelent job introducing the other super heros into the show but Im pretty sure Tom Welling has said he will never wear the superman oufit out of respect for Reed, to continue without him or the others they have brought in as heros would be devistating to make a JL show. Not keeping all the actors that have recently been made into heros would make me not want to watch.

Mr.Reed is Mr.Fantastic in Fantistic 4!!
Mr. Reeve is Superman, an amazing actor and a horrible irony of what happened to him while filming another movie. He was the Superman, the only good super hero movies before the new fade that has been out for the past few years. The women all loved Reeve, and the all the kids wanted to be Superman, in my mind he will always be Superman, I loved seeing him on Smallville as well, another reason I stopped watching that show is cause he is now gone. Rest In Peace Mr.Reeve

It would be nice, but if it were true a ton of channels, some of which you may like, would cease to exist.
That said, if you could get a package that was HBO/Cinemax/Showtime, ESPN, CNN/FoxNews/MSNBC, Discovery channel, History channel, Food Network, and CBS/ABC/NBC/Fox and nothing else I would be all over it.

The FCC talked about doing this which was supported by the Church, but then the Televangilist [sp?? (people who f*****g have church on tv, Benny Hinn style)] realized no one would purchase their channels even if they put a low cost on them. They promptly withdrew their support.
I laughed awhile ago when I read that.

Sci-Fi, HBO, Showtime, Encore, Stars, Fox, CNN, local news channels, BBC, Cartoon Network, G4, Spike, USA and I think those about the only ones I watch. But yeah if you could pay by channel god that would be great.
