Bypassing XP activation

So my girl had to format her box and I got a copy of XP pro for her to install. I was able to find a key and get it setup and what not. Now i need to figure out how to bypass activation. Anyone either have a key I can use (its XP Pro) or remember the trick of bypassing activation altogether? I could have sworn there was a reg hack for this but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

Not sure if this is the same, but I installed a ..copy..of Adobe Acrobat 7.0, which also requires online activation. I selected "activate by phone" rather than "activate online" when that window popped up. I was able to type in the activation code from the gen as well as the authorization code..and all is well

Just happened to be surfing by and saw this question.

Just call microsoft at 1-800-microsoft and choose tech support. Tell them that you just built a new box and accidentally threw away the side of the case that had the number on it. they will ask you a few questions (things like is this an oem or retail version) and then just generate you a new key.

Much easier than trying to bypass it plus it has the added benefit of you now having a "legal" copy of windows.

I know this works as I store my cd keys in my email online and I always forget to download em when I format.

Download XP Pro Corporate and Google for "Windows XP Corporate cdkey".

Ya, just do activation by phone. Tell them you had to reinstall and they will activate over the phone. They dont even ask you questions.
