I am about to buy a new computer and I was thinking that it would be a great idea if I bought something that will allow me to play my favorite game of all times. My favorite game of all times is Age of Conan. Buying a new PC for Age of Conan and in desperate need for some advice. Can you help me out?

Just make sure that the computer components are not older then three years and there will be nothing to worry about. You just have to keep this time line in your head when you go to purchase new computer. People will tend to tell you all sorts of characteristic that your new computer should have and you will get dizzy from all those info, so this is the easiest way to buy a new computer. Just buy something that is not older then three years and you will have no problems with playing any online game and that includes Age of Conan.

It depends on how you want to be able to play Age of Conan. If you just simply want to be able to play it, then sure, purchase older parts and build a moderate machine that would chug on through. I don't seem to agree with falito that if you buy parts that are not older than 3 years, you could play any online game. If you want to be able to play AoC, and play it well, meaning you want decent or high graphics, you're going to need a better machine.

I'd recommend:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850

RAM: 2-3GB PC8300 @ 800mhz

Graphics Card: 8800GT or 8800GTX

Hard Drive: Get the size you want, but keep at or above 7200RPM.

The rest of the gut level stuff I'd be happy to help you with if you needed, but if you plan on just purchasing the computer, like through DELL or something, you'll only get options on the main components.
