I won't buy anything on Nov. 28, because I like to do all of my Christmas shopping at the gas station at 2AM on Dec. 24.
But I don't support those Adbusters f**s. I understand their dislike of materialism, and I agree with them that a simple life that is not driven by greed and money is probably more fulfilling. But their smug ridicule of the way other people live their lives I find quite disgusting. Live your life however you like, but don't try to force your lifestyle on anyone else.

These people need to die in a fire.
I work in sales and am paid by commission. I make a percentage of what i sell, so my livelyhood relies on people buying stuff. when they advertise this stuff and people listen all they are doing is hurting millions of blue collar workers like myself who rely on people spending money to buy food and pay the f*****g bills.

It's policies like this that must make Canada the brustling super-power it is today! Erm, oh wait... nm!
By not spending money, all you do is hurt the economy. It's basically the same principle Henry Ford used back in the day. He paid his employee's well because he knew that if they could afford it, they'd buy his car, and he'd get a return on the investment he placed in his workers.
The more money circulates in an economy, the better the economy does overall. By not buying anything at all, the buck basically stops. You may hurt the companies that make those ad's but in the long run you're going to hurt yourself even more.

Draggyn and I will be up and out of the house no later than 5:30am that morning and SHOPPING till about noon, when we pass out from exhaustion LOL
We've been doing this every year for 5 years now and we love it. Hell of a lot of fun, specially cause most of my christmas shopping is done already  It helps me get into "the Christmas spirit" going out and seeing all the decorations and music and what not..and the sales are awesome!!!
Besides...we are a tad intimidating when the two of us are out together like this in a croud *grin* and it's not as chaotic as people like to think it is

Every year I do the same thing the day after Thanksgiving.
Sleep til 3PM, get up, eat a half pound of turkey, however much mashed potatoes are left, all the gravy, and any cranberry jelly that's left. Then drink half a pot of coffee and wish I was back asleep.
