The administration is continuing to use the same argument that every banana republic and tin pot dictator has used throughout history: anything that reflects poorly on the administration is a security threat, regardless of whether it's true or false.
National security requires that inconvenient facts about the president, his administration and their conduct be surpressed.

Well of course. Had Bush been in charge from 93+, we would have had air marshalls on every flight and more!
