Cutting programs that inspire the creation of new technology is the most retarded thing this country can do realizing that technology is the only edge the usa has over foreign economies. A lot of the stuff he wants to cut is junk anyways, but farm subsidies, disease control, and aid to the disabled are necessities for the countries well being. As soon as you slash farm subsidies foreign labor will undercut the entire american market for agriculture. Do you really want your food to be imported from a third world country when they have significantly lower safety standards and we'll be price gouged on food the same way as oil. He's creating the conditions for famine and disease and attempting to add to the problem of our higher import to export ratio while simultaneously killing the value of the dollar so your 100,000$ usd set aside for retirement is only worth about 80,000$ now. Terrible things will happen to the disabled and those on indian reservations if these cuts are approved. Families have a hard enough time already caring for those who can't, without the state slashing funds that barely offset the expense or programs that allow the disabled to reassimilate into society and become productive members. It's careless and it clearly demonstrates the poor grasp he and his advisers have on the economy or more likely its a manifestation of their apathy.

Ahh, back n the old days? It seems that was the extent of your ingenuity. You guys seemd to have fallen behind in the "look what he can do" game.
Yeah, the game. You guys lost it. Along with all the other socialists. Norweeeeeejans, sweeeeeds, goat f*****s, you name them all, I'm not in the mood. To me, they are all one in the same, NO difference. Glorified city states that exist because my tax money defends them.
/spit
I have no respect for them at all, as countries, nill/nada.
But I do like to visit, its a change of pace from the real world. Its so slow and easy over there, no competition, everything is old, everyone is laid back. Europe is a lazy place, good for sleeping.
Someday, in the future, we will let some of your guys come to our colonies. You know, when American ingenuity and drive takes us off this planet. Its coming, in our lifetime lazy bones. Will you read about it on our internet? Yup...you will.

Ow: U.S. can sit back and watch Europe implode
| Quote: | But either way the notion that it's a superpower in the making is preposterous. Most administration officials subscribe to one of two views: a) Europe is a smugly irritating but irrelevant backwater; or b) Europe is a smugly irritating but irrelevant backwater where the whole powder keg's about to go up.
For what it's worth, I incline to the latter position. Europe's problems -- its unaffordable social programs, its deathbed demographics, its dependence on immigration numbers that no stable nation (not even America in the Ellis Island era) has ever successfully absorbed -- are all of Europe's making. |

Hate to tell you your behind on this, it happened this last year 0 surplus which means we relied on foreign food for the first time in over 50 years. I think the other time was during world war 2 when we shipped food over seas, if I remember that part right.
Nafta,WTO and one other one(central American one) killed it, farmers in the US had to sell products below their cost to make them.

dont be an idiot.
The companies that produce technology do not need government funding.
Do you think Bill Gates is upset that the gov't didnt give him money for research?
Do you think genetic Companies and Energy companies are going to give up research because they dont get a check back from the Gov't?
They dont give a f**k its business. you have to understand that they will keep makeing bigger and better things and fund it themselves because they know they will make $$ from it.
Thats basic business.

Actually zonk you a little wrong there, some tech companies do depend on the gov't for Research and Development funds. There was quite a few companies from 2000-2002 that went to Canada because they were giving tax breaks and research grants to these companies for employing people there... So while they won't stop they will move somewhere else that will.... Most of the telco manufactures did this to make money back from the money they were losing to equipment sells because the Gov't was charging so much for 3G licenses to carriers.

im not saying every company doesent need gov't support.
I was pointing to the fact that we are and will always be above the curve for technology just because of our capitalist system and our huge economy.
Smaller companies that do research do need support but they can get it from other companies or places than the U.S. Gov't.

Pure capitalism (aka exploitation) is a system that can only last a few hundred years. In mathematics there are an infinite number of infinities, but there is not an unlimited number of markets.
