I just came up with a brilliant idea !!
Ok.. it's a dating service, basically. But here's the difference...
Where do people hook up the most? I'll give you a hint, it's NOT at a bar, and it's NOT on one of those hokey stupid "singles' adventures" camping and hiking trips. My theory on dating scenes is that it's not effective when it's forced. If you're forced to go someplace to meet people, nothing happens naturally.. which is where my idea comes in.
Any guesses?

Over in Las Vegas, at one of the Hotels, I forget which, they have the Rum Jungle at the bottom floor. Their main bathroom is a dating service. You can literally toss notes over the mirror to the other bathroom. If you want to see what someone looks like, you poke your head around the corner.

Yes ! It is work. And yes most employers aren't ok with that which is exactly where my reasoning comes from. People are usually only successful at finding someone they're compatible with when they're doing something totally unrelated that brings them together.. unlike those hiking trips where the whole POINT is to hook each other up, even tho those are by far more successful than online personal ads, there is still a flaw in it.
So basically my singles service is going to put people to work, I dunno, stuffing envelopes for a nonprofit or something.. some larger, more productive goal. Something that can accomodate a high turnover rate but can still be productive.

Hmm... not really sure about that Okami. Have you heard of guys that go to Women's Lib rallies to score? I've heard of more people hooking up working election campaigns and picket lines than I have heard of people getting hooked up on blind dates.
The reason blind dates don't work is because it's your friends (or your parents god forbid) making a choice and a connection for you.

I'm dating a coworker right now. Being around somebody for an extended period of time in a somewhat neutral environment really helps when trying to get to know somebody. When on a date, or on one of those single services, people always feel like they have to put on a performance and never really let their true selves be revealed.

The only problem is that, in myexperience, most work relationships don't work out. It is all cool for the first little bit, but then it starts to get old. You are not only spending time together outside of work, but you see this person all of the time there also.
Not to mention that if things happen to go wrong it will get really wierd at the work place. Nothing worse then being exsposed to an ex everyday because you work in the same place.
