I dont really dig it too much - I am still waiting for Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within. While it may not have the violence level, the free-form fighting just looks to be the pwn.

The first one had so many freaking scary jumps I had to take nitroglycerin to keep from having a heart attack.

I thought PoP was awesome. I don't understand this emphasis on combat though. Since when was PoP about fighting? It's about jumping and leaping, and then some puzzles. The reason it was so cool is becuase you're in this desolate dungeon. When enemies pop up all the time by the dozens it's not like you're playing PoP anymore.

The jumping puzzles in the first one were so linear too, there was no way to do things faster and more dangerously. The only "shortcut" I found was becuase there was a couple of pixels you could stand on top of on some of the swinging poles. I liked the time reversal thing but that combined with the ultra simplistic (though they do make it LOOK hard) jumping made me ge bored of the game a bit towards the end.

Old school PoP's were amazing. There was shit that would just BAM YOURE f*****g DEAD. No warning just BOOM. Add to that the fact you were unable to stop running without a stretch to slow down and it made things INTENSE. You had to perfectly time jumps for 20-30 second stretches. The level where you had to run across the entire stage and leap atop the pegasus back was one of the most amazing things ever.

They removed the time limits (which was a good move, those were f*****g stupid), they removed 85% of the danger, and then if you do die you can reverse it 5 times in a row. Now to make it more interesting they are adding this stupid devil may cry combat engine, who gives a shit about that. I want jumping moving brick around a circular tower at 500 feet. Not Goku with a sword.

THe only problem I have with PoP Sands of Time is that g*****n Elevator level. I am still f*****g stuck on it (81% Complete) and I cannot get past it. I dont die but they keep killing the b***h because she is f*****g stupid which ends MY game.

that's the level where it won't end until you get full sand and do the one special move (I only used one time the whole game) to kill all the monsters in one shot.
