Can you kite as a mage at all, or what is the best stragey to kill stuff solo?
Another thing the damn lvl 3 posion spell sells for like 900 to 1500 gil on Ifrit at the auction. I am Lvl 5 now with Stone, Blind, and Water is the dot that good? Is blind that good?
Thanks any tips will help a lot since i managed to lose lvl 5 like 5 times last night.

dude f**k the auction house for spells people BUY spells at the merchant in Port Sandoria and sell it at the auction house for a 200% markup (poision was only 300 gil at the store haha @ u  )
Get bind once u hit level 7..
Root, nuke nuke nuke nuke dead.
if root gets resisted and the mob your try'n to kill isnt "easy" just run as soon as u see the mob isnt rooted and load up bind and hit it every few secs till it refreshes (abotu 20 secs)
then root em again..
thats about as close to kite'n as yer gonna get. Worked great for me, went from 7-15 in 2 days or so. (those are 2 16 hr days  )

Cool thanks, so can you cast spells while running did not really notice that yet.
My vendor did not sell posion in the port area, i bought the water and blind spell but they did not carry posion there.
Do you chain cast spells like water, stone, water or just use the best one?

Unless you're fighting something with a resistance to an element, switch it up between water and stone until about 11 or 12...then you can start incorporating Aero (your mana base will be way higher).

u cant cast spells while running
but I keep pressing my bind hotkey till it comes back up again while running away then stop and try to root em again.
BLM doesnt live for much more than 6 hits on decent challenges so you gotta keep moooovin (shit I've been 1 shotted by a decent challenge orc cuz he used a special attack)

Ok, so do you hot key most of you spells and stuff? I am a n00b with this interface still. I am using a ps2 controller though.
I need to get to lvl 7 so i get bind, i keep dieing in 5 though heh.

yah al my spells are hotkey'd
CTRL-# = dmg
ALT-# = debuffs, root, etc
