Is the future of Star Wars Galaxies over, because Bioware is taking it over? I have heard that it is closing in the next several months. Somehow, they are done with the making of games. I will never agree with that, because I love to play SWG. It is the best game I have ever seen. That is why these two must have bright future. I am hoping I will be able to play this game for a long time.

We are all just waiting for official statement from SWG development studio. Somehow, the developing team has managed to get into deep financial troubles. I cannot understand why, because Star Wars Galaxies is amazing game. Millions of gamers are playing it, and many more are paying for premium accounts. We should not worry about this, because they will find the way out. The future of this game will be good; just there would not be any good updates in the next several months. I think it will not affect the game play, or the players themselves. We should continue with playing this great game to support the developers.

I dont think that bioware is taking over SWG, however, they are working with Lucasarts on something.

last i heard bioware was in talks with lucasarts for their next game which was hinted at some sort of KOTOR world based MMO. Dunno though probably pulling that out of my ass.
As for SWG, the game was great prior to the CU. The week after that patch 90% of everyone I knew in the game quit. I think they consolidated servers within a month of the patch. The developers didnt fix the main issue of defense stacking (which made the ridiculous jedi grind pointless when a Master Fencer/Pistoleer/TK was unstoppable) instead they just nerfed EVERYTHING (like buffs, etc) and made the game more based on those cookie cutter classes and replaced the skill points with generic linear levels.

I'd heard rumors of a KOTOR mmo but it could also just be KOTOR 3. I think the MMO would do well becauce jedi as a starting class would be okay as opposed to what they did in SWG.

No SWG has never done a server consolidation. The need is great right now as server as dead.

Its KOTOR online, they registered the game as a mmo.
