I already preorder the CE so i "should" get an invitation when the open beta starts suposedly,but wondering if anyone on this forums is already or has been on the beta,and what are you toughts and comments.

Basicly, it sucks.
First there's gfx. It was ok for WoW in 05, but it's 08 now and we'r about to see Crysis 2, so it's not very good at all. We all know why Blizzard did it, so the game could be run perfectly on some old video cards, but now almost every1 has like Gefore 8800 and by release even newer cards will kick in, so it's not an excuse for me.
Second of all is the UI, which is 95% WoW alike, except for 1 feature - knowledge book, wtih all the bestiary listed etc.
ATM there are only 3 profs availabe for each faction (race) - not much at all.
Except for PvP which is more advanced than WoW's the game sucks. Not even talking about bugs etc as it's still a beta.

Warhammer BETA is WoW version 1.5.
It's just like WoW only a little more "dark" instead of a comic strip. There's blood so it will be "M" for mature instead of childish... which is why it will have a stronger appeal to the more "adult" crowd.

I'm not sure what beta version I played, but I had a chance to try out some WAR pvp at a gaming convention. I was so pumped up to finally try it. I couldn't believe how disappointed I was at the end. The combat was really boring. Anyways still have plenty of time to fix all this.

been looking forward to this game for ages, tried AoC still playing it even tho it has so many flaws, hopfully will be fixed soon and will become an epic game

You are not the only one...
I'll rather play WAR closed beta than AOC released version (canceled subscription today, i didn't enjoy it like i expected to be) because most likely i'll encounter less bugs.

WAR is being rated "T" for teen, not mature.
The reason the graphix aren't as OMGWTFCONAN is the massive amounts of players in RvR keep seiges and city capturing.
Gameplay and smoothness blows super high graphics out the window any day.
Also, it's the 'Tome of Knowledge' which lists much more than just a flacid bestiary.
With these opinions, I'd hope that some of you actually knew what you were talking about.
To the guy who mentioned playing a version at a gamesday. they have revamped the system since then, around Dec I think. A lot has changed since then, it's working out nicely.

Last phase of beta did some amazing things graphics wise to the game. Every stage the game gets better and better.
And yes I am in the WAR beta.

Highly anticipating this. From what I've seen recently, it does look to be markedly improved over the original beta phase.

CE on pre-order just incase I can't get into closed. That way I can at least get a head start on the learning curves of the game mechanics and lore.

oh yea and to the OP:
The CE will only let you in Open Beta that happens a few months/weeks/days before the release. If you have the CE on pre-order, keep an eye out on the WAR website to see if they are done with closed beta and changed over to Open and you should get a call from the retailer store you ordered it from, if not call them and they should have a key for you.
but until then we wait

I'm not in beta, but I'm also trying to get in, and I've heard good things. And yea, WAR is rated T, not M. Graphics are actually a big improvement over WoW (not that it's too important to me), but if you watch some videos that show off the lighting system you will notice some big differences.
