Best magic class in Lineage 2

I’d like to start playing Lineage 2. I’m always a magic user whenever I play an RPG and so I would like to hear some recommendations on which class is the best magic using class in Lineage 2 before I create my character. Which race should I choose? I suppose that elves are the best with magic so correct me if I’m wrong.

Most of the people who play Lineage 2 say that the Necro is the best magic class. I think that all the summoning classes are quite good. Anyway, dark elves have some great magics so I would advise you to choose a dark elf as your race if you plan on having a mystic character.
