I suppose you could say that Battlefield: Bad Company is BF3. It's not going to launch for PC, probably the same reason CryTek isn't going to make another Crysis exclusive PC game. Two words, Online Piracy.

actually i only heard that they already registered "battlefield 3" as their brand new and propably also has their homepage....i'm sure the 3rd one will be announced soon

I heard BF 3 is supposed to encorporate stuff from bf2 and bf 2142 so its will be a futuristic style but in the past sort of thing.

bad company is kind of like a test bed for BF3 you could say. the actual BF3 will probably be a much beefier Bad Company but likely focused on the MP as usual and none of the SP stuff from BC

Hehe, but it would be c00l if they makes a new Battlefield for PC.. Battlefield 2142 was not that great, out of ideas i think... 
I guess 2142 was the BF3?

I'm looking forward to Battlefield Heroes, at least it will be free. I enjoy the cell shaded graphics in games like Team Fortress 2. I can't wait till BF:H is finished.

BF3 will be for PC. Its gonna use the Frostbite engine that was for BF Bad Company. The reason they made Bad Company was because people were saying they weren't paying attention to console gamers enough. It will not be futuristic. The war is supposed to be NATO vs MEC set in the Middle East. There will be 48 different vehicles and 56 different weapons in all.
This was a PDF file that was leaked a while back.

* Announcement and teaser trailer in January 2008.
A map is mentioned by name, called “Baghdad Burning”, and appears to be a massive urban map, similar to BF2’s very popular “Strike at Karkand”. The game is powered by “Frotbite DX”, currently the Frostbite engine is used in Battlefiled: Bad Company on PS3 and Xbox 360. The “DX” could refer to DirectX (10?), a PC version of the Frostbite engine.
Please note that none of this is confirmed, we’ve emailed a few people from EA and DICE (Battlefield developers) and will update the article as soon as we know more. Also note that we cannot, for obvious (legal) reasons, release the PDF document. Stay tuned for more info. |

would buy it no doubt though..
really enjoyed bf 1942 and 2, 2142 was less interesting imo xD
