Battlefield 2 badges/awards/medals?

Does anyone understand what you need for certain badges? I cant figure out the more advanced ones.


I got basic for all 6, all 3 stars., airborne bairdge, infantry officer badge, combat infantry badge, armor/heli/transport etc.


I haven't been able to get the aviator, air defense, or ground defense badges. Has anyone been able to / how?

Also has anyone gotten any of the level 2 or 3 awards for classes or above? I think only the first level are battlefield commendations. I think the rest are based on total stats, but I'm not sure.

Laggy beyond belief? Have you tried any of the 64 player ones? Even the 32 player servers are having problems. On top of that they aren't updating properly just yet. Probably be sometime mid next week (hopefully the patch is released by then too) for them to get everything ironed out. They stated they just didn't have enough hardware to meet the demand, but more and more servers are getting put out so it should all smooth out over the next few days.

My opinion is based on the fact that I've joined about 28-29 ranked servers so far looking for one that has deemed playable (note all these servers I'm receiving 15-50 pings). All of them have performed shitastic, everybody on those servers were experiencing this same network lag (which is being caused by the ranking system, according to EA/Dice who claim to be "fixing" the problem). Yet when I and other people join the unranked servers gameplay was smooth as butter.

Things are starting to get better and smoother for the ranked servers tho (the unranked servers are damn near perfect).

Also concerning the medals, after a match is over and it is loading the next map check out the load screens that it is flipping through. It gives a bunch of detailed and divided stats based one special things that people done. I'm assuming based on them specific stats is how exp/ranks/medals are rewarded? Might be some usefull information there.

Its pretty neat that it actually keeps track of how good you play as a medic/engineer/assault/etc, hell it even has tank commanders and aircraft pilots.

you're wrong about everything in previous post and this one lol. The delay used to be like 9hrs on stats. Now it's like 15mins. I'm not sure where you live but most i can connect to quite a few EA/ranked servers with 40-80 ping.

Wrong about what in that post? That it displays the stats after each map while loading up the next map? Em okie..

Im wrong that about the Ranking servers not updating the stats correctly? Even tho EA/Dice themselves are aware of the problem and putting in upgrades to the current systems and bringing up more servers to help the load? Em okie again..

I'm wrong that myself and about 50% of the BF2 playerbase can't play on ranked servers right now due to performance/database issues causing extreme amounts of lag even tho server pings are low? (Dice/EA is aware of this too!)

Holy Shit! If I'm wrong so is majority of the BF2 playerbase (who is awaiting the patch this week along with me, hopefully it comes out this week

whats up with the lack of an edit button btw?

btw I'm not trying to down the game or anything, I love the game. The gameplay is awesome especially if you get a competent commander/squad leader. It gets pretty intense. Just haven't had any really good luck on ranked servers (doesn't mean I wont keep trying!). Tho the gameplay on the well admined non-rank clan servers has been fantastic.

Status update on the ranking system is that it should update more quickly, possibly less then 5mins now. If that is true it is great, hopefully they ironed out latency issues with the ranked servers too.

uh is there somewhere that says how to unlock weapons and shit? =p

know anything on the break down on how ranks are awarded?

IE:

# of points = what rank ?

PFC - 500
Lance Corporal - 1000
Corporal - 10,000

any consensus which weapon is the best to unlock first?

I unlocked the medic one first and I enjoy it. Takes a few rounds of playing with to get used to, but its great.

And so you know, those ranks arent how many points total you need to raise to the next, its how many for that rank. So, you actually need 1500 points total on your account before you reach LC, not 500 for PVC, then 500 more for LC. Just thought I'd depress you a little more. =P

Medic unlock is decent (SA-80 I think it is? its the rifle the standard brit infantry uses), I played a bit with it during the demo on unlocked servers, and more then likely will be the first gun I unlock since the main class I play is medic. But I honestly think I like the MEC an-101 and China ak-47 a bit more.

In the end all the weapons seem to be pretty balanced (normal and unlocked). Tho US/Chinese engies not getting a semi-auto shotgun is kinda bleh.

Getting that anti-tank shotgun would be neat tho ;p
