Finally got it!
I think the guides are wrong that say you have to get 40 commander points in a single round...
When I got it, I only had around 28 points...I went into my stats section after the next round and saw that my Commander Score was at 1100 (I got the badge at 1000 I'm pretty sure).
So...I -think- you only need 1000 Commander Points for the basic commander badge.../shrug
edit: I got all basics now :P

Where did you get your award sig at?
edit* nevermind. I ended up finding the webpage for the exact one your using for the awards http://stats.codeflow.org/awardssig/ (Your Account ID# here). Now it comes down to deciding between quote or medals sig picture heh. Could prolly fit both but my sig section is already bordering on the massive side.

this is more or less a related reply but sorta a thread hijack.
The staff officer ribbon has a 28min as comm and 50 commander score in one round. Im having some issues getting this since pub games are loaded with dimwits that dont understand what the pulsating red artillery icon means on thier minimap.
Is the 50 score required the final score or the teamwork score? Im pretty sure Ive hit the 50 final score thing with the 2x bonus FTW a number of times but have not picked up this ribbon. Any ideas? Also any suggestions on the ground defense ribbon while were at it? I figure Karkand is going to be my best bet on this one.

I've given up on that staff officer ribbon for now, for those reasons exactly.
Newbs are always going to flock to that giant red X as if its a waypoint, and then punish you for it. Besides, most rounds dont even last 28 minutes, not even on the large maps sometimes (which I lag on usually anyway, so I stick to the medium maps for the most part). Also, 9 out of 10 games you are commander in, the Squad Leaders will be worthless and never request supplies/uav/etc (which gives the commander points i think).
You have to get that 50 points before the round ends I think. I've gotten Commander scores in the 70's and 80's before (after my score was doubled that of the team average), and never got my basic command badge that way. Didnt get basic command till I hit 1000 global command points I'm pretty sure.

They dont have to request, if they go near it for resupply etc you get pts for it. A friend of mine tried to farm points along these lines by having me copilot his bomber. We figured he would get drive ability assists but it doesnt quite work that way.
Im told another way for the comm to get points is to right click spotted on enemies on the map. If a enemy is killed by someone on your team while illuminated on the minimaps by you, you supposedly get pts for it. I have no idea if this is true or not. Any one know?

oh by the way. Just wanted to mention I picked up my basic command bag with <500 commander score. The only requirement is a 40pt commander score in 1 round. Im not sure how those overall class scores are calculated.
