Blithe got it worse than the jews. So did the douchebag David Schwimmer played.
Gotta agree though, the series is absolutely amazing, the history channel shows it a few times a year.

It's the best war series ever.
My favorite moment has to be episode 7(The Breaking Point) near the end.
Somehow a deadbeat CEO(Dykes) got put in charge of easy company and when it came down to the fighting he couldn't handle it... After nothing is being accomplished Winters relieves the deadbeat and puts this badass( i dont recall his name.. something like Splinters) in charge who has rumors sitting around that he gave a bunch of german hostiges cigs then sprayed them all down. He f****n runs across enemy lines to inform I-company whats up and runs back infront of tons of infrantry, tanks, the whole shabang.... How he survived i dont know but that was some heroism... got me all pumped up.

If you watch the 2nd or 3rd episode, whichever it is when it's D-Day, one of easy company comes across that Lt, talked to one of the prisoners, then as he was leaving he heard a bunch of machine gun fire in the distance. Also, it's impressive how that guy gets a trip home but declines it and has Winters give it to Dykes instead to get him out of their company.

In the prelude for episode 6, Henry Zimmerman gives his accounts of Easy Company. He's a local here and I got to meet him one day, he even signed my DVD set. He still tears up when he talks about WWII and the liberation of that concentration camp.

if you didn't know they are also working on The Pacific War
A 10-part mini-series telling stories of America's battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II.
but it won't be focus on one unit/company, but rather lots of different ones
it has a few set backs, i think it listed to start filming in a year or so

Hopefully they cover Iwo Jima and Okinawa more than the earlier stuff.. thats where the real meat of the pacifc war happened. Brutal stuff, equal to the Eastern Front in every respect.

That series deserves more awards than it got. I wish they would make another one or something though just because of it's nature its not really something you can make a sequel of.

Thats a big drawback, one of the things that made Band of Brothers so great is the fact that it focuses on a few people. Not to mention the fact that the actors being somewhat close to the real soldiers in appearance really added to it too.

I agree totally. I'd watch a Pacific version in a heartbeat because I just can't get enough WWII shit, but Band of Brothers kicked ass mostly because you got to know the guys over the course of the series.

Hmmm, I would have to disagree a little on that, Frax. Iwo Kima and Okinawa were absolutely horrible, but the unfathomable scale of death on the Eastern Front would have to take the cake in my mind. For the 1st two years Stalin would lose 250k+ soldiers every time he tried to do ANYTHING, and the million + soviet PoWs had a 90% chance of dying thanks to the Germans starving them and taking their boots and coats. 20+ million dead seems a little worse in my book...

You might want to read up on Okinawa and the bombings of japan then a little closer.
