So who is gonna go, USC or LSU?
With Washington State losing that gives USC zero quality wins (top 10 BCS teams), and LSU has one which means this *might* stir things up.
Either way it will be a blow out; no one can touch Oklahoma.

The value of USC's quality win was -.1, basically worthless anyways.
However, I think it'll be closer between the two because LSU's SoS is going up with the Ole Miss game. I really don't think the writer's polls will change - LSU barely won and USC rolled over UCLA - and I don't see LSU gaining an average of two spots on USC in all the computer polls either.
If I had to guess, USC is #2, LSU #3.
I don't think either stand much of a chance against Oklahoma, but 'Ohio didn't stand a chance against Miami' last year... so I wouldn't etch the trophy quite yet.

don't think its going to matter cuz i'm thinking that LSU will lose in the SEC championship game anyways. either way, to answer the thread question, i will say USC/OK anyways.
i'd rather see Michigan/OK in the sugar bowl. but the best michigan can do is #3 i believe.

4 Bowls rotate the national championship game, the Rose Bowl among them. However, this year the Big Ten winner (Michigan) gets an automatic bid into the Rose Bowl as it always used to be.
The Sugar Bowl hosts the national championship game this year. The other two bowls in the rotation are the Fiesta Bowl and the Orange Bowl.

It's unlikely Mich will secure a #2 ranking and a trip to the Sugar Bowl. At the very least, they'll have to pass both USC and LSU.
However, in the event that Mich should outrank both USC and LSU (I suppose they could lose yet), the Rose Bowl can select another team from the top 12 (9 wins also necessary) in the BCS rankings to take Michigan's place. Also keep in mind that the school they select cannot already be committed to another BCS bowl in the same manner the Big Ten champ is committed to the Rose Bowl.
Technically, Ohio would qualify for the Rose Bowl in such a scenario. They have 9 wins, will still be ranked in the top 12, and the Big Ten 10 does not have an agreement to send it's runner-up anywhere specifically.
Would be pretty humorous if that happend, but very unlikely. Michigan has 2 losses, and a 2-loss team hasn't won the national championship since Minnesota back in 1960. That kinda shows you how often 2-loss teams get a shot.

very doubtful michigan would get a shot at the championship game.
BCS is a big joke anyways, much like the NCAA.

College football in general is a joke. It's gone from being the greatest sport in America to fund raising for the schools and minor league for the NFL.

You should see the locker room for one of Oregon's teams - $27,000 apeice lockers with built-in LCD screens, massive plasma monitors, huge hot tubs...it's a f****n 5 star hotel.

Michigan won't be in the national championship game because LSU won Saturday and there's really nobody to topple USC/LSU from the second spot. Michigan will go to the rose bowl and play a Washington State team most likely.

Well... Arkansas can beat LSU imo. And you have Oregon State who beat Cal who beat USC earlier this year.... OH NOS Michigan and OU in the Championship Game!!! I am praying for that, not because I think that USC or LSU can beat OU, because I want to see how bad a big12 team beats a big 10 team.

LSU will clench the Sugar Bowl bid on one of two conditions. Either USC wins, and LSU wins out vs. Arkansas and Florida/Georgia/Tennessee in the SECCG, or LSU wins vs. Arkansas and wins vs. Florida in the SECCG. To do that, Florida has to pass Georgia and Tenessee both in the BCS rankings.. not likely, but possible.
Otherwise, USC vs Oklahoma. Thats about as in depth as I looked at it. Arkansas is a good team, but I think Saban is going to be breathing fire after that s****y win last week, and LSU is going to roll through the last two games of their season. I honestly look for LSU vs Michigan in the Rose. Getting my checkbook ready. Anyone want to place a bet?

If the top 5 teams win out. LSU will not go to the Rose Bowl since the Fiesta Bowl will have first choice after losing Oklahoma to the Sugar Bowl and will choose LSU in compensation for losing the SEC Champion. The only scenario where LSU could make the Rose Bowl is if LSU loses to Arkansas but still wins the SEC championship and the Fiesta chooses to take Texas and The Rose decides to take LSU. . IF LSU loses the SEC championshiip game, the Rose more than likely will take either Georgia or Tenessee. My bet is that Texas will play Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

The SECCG isn't determined by the BCS rankings. It is the best record in the east vs the best record in the west. In the event of a three way tie (georgia, tennesse, florida) the school AD's vote on the team that should go to the game. If Tennesse loses and florida wins out then florida goes. Odds are it will be Tennesse vs LSU in seccg.
If LSU wins out, then there is no possible case anyone can make for USC to be a deserving team for the suger bowl. I don't care what the strength of schedule says, bottomline is USC has beaten only one current top ten team, and if LSU wins out that means they will have beaten 3 ranked teams - 2 of which are in the top ten.

Actually Clev, they changed that like 4 weeks ago and decided that the BCS would decide who "won" in case of a tie.

Ah I didn't know that had changed. Does that apply to a 2 way tie as well as a 3 way tie?
