Well the other day my bosses decided that my new job is doing Autocad, because I'm the computer "whiz". Thing is though, I've never used Autocad before in my life. Yesterday I spent 8 hours, paid, sitting at my desk working on a peace and yingyang sign.

So, I need something else to make today, for another 8 hours, to get the hang of this program. Anyone got some good tutorials they want to share?

ok the best thing to learn the program would to make an assembly

if you have children go home and get one of their toys. Legos are always fun but very time consuming. If you can find a toy wooden train ect that is good. Basically you want to create a different file for each piece. Measure them and just make them one by one. You than create an assembly brining in each piece. The assembly command take some use to getting use to. You have to deal with mate, different alignes. Its fun.

Pm me if you need any help, im proficient in Autocad, Mechanical Desktop, and Solidworks....

I took an autoCAD class my freshman year in high school Smile I knew everything about it...5-6 years ago.

Learn the hotkeys, they'll save you hours when doing stuff ;p

I remember in our class we started out making specific shapes to certain dimensions. Started out simple, then got more complex. Then, moved on to 3-D shapes/objects, and eventually by the end of the year, designed our own house.
