Typical demonRatic hypocrite...Clinton should have been elected president because he was the governor of Arkansas...but Bush should never have been elected president because he was governor of Texas.

It accomplished what John Kerry did in 20 years in the senate - nothing.
That sound right to you? |
Did nothing? Why was he reelected over and over? He sponsored over 60 bills while he was there.(quoteing himdirectly)
What did Bush do for this country BEFORE he was elected? |
heh, You mean he "indirectly" sponsored over 60 bills right? As in, his name wasn't even on them?
I'm hoping thats what you mean because thats what happened
He was re-elected over and over because he is in one of the most liberal states in the union and he is after all the most liberal senator? Common sense a bit to much on this one for ya? How else can you explain the vote against the first gulf war?

Holy shit. Wtg Obmar for not even bothering to read up on the "Assault Weapons Ban".
At best, it raised the cost of certain weapons but didn't make them totally illegal to own. All it did was ban several types of grips and fittings and stopped the manufacture of new guns. You could still goto a gunshow, and pay out the ass for a pre-ban weapon and own it legally.
Once again, the ban did nothing other then raise the price on certain weapons, not ban them completly like Kerry was trying to infer with his speech during the debate.
I'm not a gun nut btw, I don't own a gun, nor do I want too at this point in my life, just because I don't want too though doesn't mean I should trample one someone elses Constitutional Rights. But b******t laws that accomplish nothing other then to give politicians something to do = retarded.
Also, for why Kerry was re-elected so many times, it's probably because it's very hard to unseat an elected Senator or Represitive once in power. The majority of people only vote for the 2 main parties, and if said 2 parties only sponser the same canidates over and over again, they're going to get re-elected over and over again. Or maybe there was just noone running against him? There's a host of reasons why Kerry was continously re-elected.
Just because he was voted into office, doesn't mean he did a good job. A majority of people are morons who, like I stated earlier, only vote for the 2 main parties no matter who they're running. Or worse yet, don't even vote at all, yet find some reason to b***h about the way things are.

Ummm Because He is claiming that he himself is the one responsible for it coming out of the senate?
He didn't, he may have helped with them in a unprovable way (heh, to be honest some of his stuff in the 80's wasn't bad - balanced budget was good) but he for f*****g sure can't sit back and say that he created them and its his leadership that brought them about because it wasn't. He even sat there and said that they weren't accredited to him.
He brought about 5 bills that he led....

exactly. what f*****g good is a "feel good law" if it only impacts the law abiding population. That'w hy it had ZERO effect on crime rates.
If somone wants an illegal weapon, THE ARE GOING TO GET AN ILLEGAL WEAPON. There are always ways, and there's no way to possible defend against all of them.

Massachusets is the frathest left, most liberal state in the Union. The more liberal you are, the more they love you.

Normal checks for a rifle or handgun plus the wait on handguns and a long term FBI check and fair sized charge($500+)added on to each full auto weapon. No one with a felony can buy a full auto. |
you are not old enough to own a gun, and you have zero weapon rights until you are 18 years of age...in fact you 'own' absolutely nothing.
p.s. cough*weapon*cough guns are huge.
anyway, f**k the ban. right to arms! I like my weapons and no liberal is going to take them from me. |
No shit I can't have them in my name yet. Point? It's still my cash paying for the gun I want that stays in my rooms. Like my shotgun in the closet 10ft away..please break into my house tonight. |
ITS NOT YOUR CASH, ITS NOT YOUR ROOM, ITS NOT YOUR SHOTGUN, ITS NOT YOUR HOUSE. |

Ow, another bump but the largest police organization in the country is taking a stand: Police Call on Kerry to Stop Misrepresenting Their Support
| Quote: | "While Kerry was flying around the country campaigning and leaving the actual work of the nation to his colleagues in the Senate, the President was out there working on our behalf," Canterbury said. "Senators Kerry and Edwards have missed so many crucial votes this Congress that I was beginning to believe there were only 98 members of the U.S. Senate."
Canterbury also said it was the height of irony that Kerry would use his position on the reauthorization of the assault weapons ban as a reflection of his support from police.
"First, if a police officer is killed by an AK-47, Kerry would oppose the death penalty for the killer," Canterbury said. "In addition, where was he when this issue was being discussed in the 108th Congress? Where was he when we were working to pass H.R. 218? When it came time to help push for final passage of legislation important to law enforcement, Senator Kerry was regrettably A.W.O.L."
"Given the facts, I would greatly appreciate it if Senator Kerry would refrain from making similar whimsical assertions regarding his support from the law enforcement community," Canterbury said. "The real majority of my fellow officers are standing behind President Bush, because he has been there for us." |
