How did Vietnam turn out by the way?

You mean the Vietnam war that Kennedy and LBJ got us in? What does that have to do with Nixon? He inheritted the vietnam mess, he didn't create it.

Nixon can't be blamed for starting the problems in Vietnam but he and Kissinger can certainly be blamed for many of the problems in Southeast Asia today. Myanmar/Burma and Cambodia are just a couple of examples.

I personally blame Nixon for bringing about Jimmy Carter though he hadn't resigned, it's highly doubtful that Gerald Ford would've lost to Carter . ^^

And bash Clinton all you want but the fact remains that that impeached President would still kick George W.s ass if they went head to head. He's among the most popular Presidents ever and the only Presidents who would stand a chance against him in popularity would be JFK and Reagan.

He had high approval rates only during the period after September 11. His approval ratings have been sliding ever since he attacked Iraq and terrible prior to 9/11. And yes, Clinton would kick George W's ass and if the Democrats had ANY decent candidate, they would win this election but Kerry and the Democratic party have no one to offer which is a sad commentary for Bush since he's the incumbent and he should have been a shoe in after how he initially handled the country after the terrorists attacked. I guess you haven't been paying attention to the mid 40's approval rating as of late. Polls indicate that people don't like Bush but they still think he's a better candidate than Kerry. He will win this November not because he's endeared but because there is no alternative at this point. If you think people will look upon his Presidency favorably in the years to come, you're obviously smoking something.

You're correct, I didn't see yesterdays polls but it was sub 50 prior to that but remember d*****s that it always peaks during conventions but I guess you didn't factor that in. Lets see what transpires over the next term. BTW, look up polls of Bush vs Clinton. I still haven't seen you bring up any numbers to refute my initial comments but I guess it's expected that you would go on a tangent like you generally do. WTG sparky, you're as prediotable as usual! I grant you this though. You do make some decent arguments unlike some of the b******t that come out of your conservative brethrens that post here. Anyway, enjoy the limelight for the next 4 years cause Centrists like McCain, Arnie and Guiliani will all be in the forefront of the next campaign againt most likely Hilary...

Clinton had the best end of Presidency approval rating of ANY President post WW2. His 65% beat Reagan by 1% and JFK by 2% which is why I brought up the 3 immensely popular Presidents. Remember, Clinton had a 80% approval rating right after he was impeached because most Americans didn't give a shit that he got a b******b in the White House.

End-of Presidency Job Approval Ratings
Bill Clinton (2001) 65%
Ronald Reagan (1989) 64
Dwight Eisenhower (1961) 59
John F. Kennedy (1963) 63
George Bush (1993) 56
Gerald Ford (1977) 53
Lyndon Johnson (1969) 49
Jimmy Carter (1981) 34
Richard Nixon (1974) 24

Wrong. Clinton never had an 80% approval rating:

And I'm sure his approval rating doesn't have a high correlation coeffeciant when compared to this data:

(Hint: When lining up the corresponding dates, it's the same graph).

In fact, Bush's approval rating is higher than any of these presidents listed. His average approval rating last year was 60% (http://www.gallup.com/content/login.aspx?ci=10207), which was "considerably lower" than his previous two years. And that's with a depressed market.

Bush's low approval ratings were not long lasting, and the direct result of a relentless attack by all forms of media against his character. The campaign has just begun. The Bush administration has just begun to tell there story. His approval rating went up 10 points in that short time.

Clinton never had the misfortune of a "Michael Moore" or half a dozen news stations airing propaganda. Bush has an uphill battle. But truth will prevail. The left will lose.

Edit: I'm lying in bed and just watched a clip on the daily show. It was basically a short F9/11. When Clinton was president, all the comedians would shrug their shoulders and say the now famous lines, "It's only ****!" When did perjury become ****?

"In the wake of the House of Representatives' approval of two articles of impeachment, Bill Clinton's approval rating has jumped 10 points to 75% percent, the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows."

I guess I was off by 5%. Now before you go off on a tangent again, do you really believe that Clinton would lose to George W if both happened to be running for this term? Also, why do you have a graphic of a stock in the 2nd image? Are you trying to correlate the fluctuations in this particuliar stock to fluctuations in gallup poll results?

This particular stock market (Nasdaq). The graph isn't all that good, because I couldn't find one restricted between 1998 and 1999, but when you download and plot the points, the curvatures line up exactly with Clinton's approval rating. This is because there was really nothing going on in the world that the public was aware of (like Bin Laden's growing power, North Korea secretly building nukes, and an otherwise declining world) besides America's growing wealth. People became happier when they made $10,000 in a week and it was reflected in their approval rating of Clinton. Bush, on the other and, experienced high approval ratings independent of the market.

Kbarr, how about instead of upping your post count, you post something that means a damn. I'll vote for Bush, not because I want to but because I don't want Kerry to win.

According to Fox's Shawn Handity(I know I got the last name wrong, deal with it) Kerry has already employed upwards of 2,000 lawyers who will make Florida of 2000 pale in comparisson.

Yeah, I think that if Bush wins the Election, Kerry will attempt to have the Courts over-turn the results. If that fails, the Dem's will go to hell and back inorder to Impeach Bush.
