Now that I'm starting to hunt in some higher level zones I've been noticing weird armor drops. I've seen Twill armor, Smooth Leather armor and Laminated Scale armor. I've also noticed that they have level requirements starting at ~49 and going though ~55 but they have no stats.

What's the point of this armor? Is it some kind of component for a higher level recipe or is it just for looks?

Also, is there a plate set like it? I think I'm going to collect all of them just to wear if they're not used for anything else. So far I was only high enough level to wear some of the pieces of Twill armor and it looks neat. Anyways, thanks

Grey colored stuff is basically just vendor trash. The grey weapons sell for a nice chunk of change.

LootLink mod is good for trash items. Whenever you mouseover an item at a vendor it saves the price that the vendor will pay you for it. Then, any time you mouse over the item, it tells you the price. So when you loot a mob and it has a [Sword of Fecality], if you've ever had one before and sold it it will say "Sells for 2g 34s" or whatever. It's handy for determining which crap items to keep and which to ditch when space is tight.

Lootlink does a ton of other stuff as well, I love it!

Absolutely necessary for those long instance farming sessions. I love it too.

I have my qualms with some mob loot.

Slimes, for instance, will drop the same thing, regardless of level. Only world drops differ according to level. Scorpids (and probably a lot more) are also guilty of this.

These mods work wonders for shit like that.

But gray armor/weapons are always worth nabbing. The least expensive of the highest tier of grays is probably 25 to 35s--not much, but it's worth one inventory spot if you're farming for cash.

Gray/green weapons are where the real money is at, though. Two-handed sword with +spi/int? Thanks for the 7g!
