I'm sure there's some football fans out there among the sea of nerds, so tell us how your team did this past weekend, and what you expect for the year.

Being a Giants fan, I have to say they played a good game. Our O line is horrendous, but the defense was great, and though no one mentioned it, the cornerbacks had some amazing coverage and tackles. Looking forward to next week against Dallas.

So whats up in your corner of the world?

I don't really have a team (prefer college alot more), but I can tell you the Lions still really suck. Bad news for Cardinals fans, though, 'cause your team is even worse.

The Lions have no defense whatsoever and their running game is completely gone for the year now that Stewart is out. They caught a few lucky breaks (scored on an interception, punt return) that made their game against Phoenix look like cake, but really it was a train wreck for both sides. They'll start the season 1-4 easily.

Massive destruction compliments of Brett Favre coming right up this sunday.

San Fancisco 49 Chicago 7 baby!

Yes the Bears suck, and Kordell Stewart really sucks, but it was still fun to watch my team totally dominate like that. I am really excited about our defense this year. They aren't big, but they are fast and aggressive. They blitzed on practically every play, and *nobody* can run outside on these guys. If you want to run on SF, you better hope you can do it up the gut, they are just too fast to beat to the corner. Jeff Garcia isn't the biggest QB, or a super talent, but he makes up for it by being tough as hell and leaving it all on the field. Terrell Owens is getting a lot of attention from secondaries, and Tai Streets is making them pay for it, which is just what the Niners were hoping he would do. When Owens does get open you better watch out. I don't think I have ever seen that guy catch a ball and immediately get tackled. He may not get YAC, but he will try, and if you try to arm tackle him you might as well put 6 more points on the board yourself because he will run your ass over.

Next week's Rams game will show us whether this team is for real. I only wish we could have faced Kurt "I'm Batman" Warner, instead of Bulger who is clearly the better QB right now.

Everyone looks like the real deal against Arizona.

Anyways, raiders fan.. mixed feelings on their loss sunday night. Tons of penalties, seemed like they finally woke up around half time and played like they should, and had a shot to win the game, they were never out of it at any point. I can see them making the playoffs fairly easy with their schedule this year.

I think you're right Frax. I think they are in a slump, probably since the Superbowl, but they are better than they have been playing lately. I'm sure Romo fracturing the skulls of his teammates doesn't help either. They need a couple good games, and the Bengals next week should be a morale boost Smile.

They may not win their division, since KC seems pretty hot, but I would be suprised if they didn't make the playoffs at least. This year may be their last chance before they have to go into rebuilding mode.

Raiders always seem to have tons of penalties - they are the meanest team in the NFL (can be good, can backfire on ya). There is a reason why they say San Fran doesn't have a slum - they have Oakland =P

Seems to be way more injuries this year.

Go Niners! That is all.

Welp, my 49ers continued their domination of the Lowly Bears, 49-7. I was disappointed that they didn't break 50, but ah well.

Meanwhile, the Eagles tried to get all tough and got demolished by the World Champion Bucs (go back in time 10 years ago and ask me what I'd think about Tampa being champs lol)

Tennessee and Houston got wins.

Arkansas and Texas got wins.

This was a good week.

Next week I get to p**s off all of Northwest Arkansas by wearing my Longhorns gear while Texas lays the smack down to Arkansas. After that I can go back to loving both teams though.

Cheesehead here.

Packers lost, and lost our two top recievers to injury. Looks like they are out 0-4 weeks each. Hard to say right now. It's so bad they are talking to Antonio Freeman. He was benched for the final game with the Packers before they cut him a few years ago for discipline problems. I'm not sure what is more painful, the fact that we're talking with him, or that we're still paying him for the part of his bonus still left on his last contract.

uggghhh

Antonio Freeman was the receiver that always seemed to be wide open by like 10 yards whenever they played the niners.

Jacksonville Jaguars blew the damn game. Oh well Brunell showed he still has some skills left. My very close 2nd team is Houston Texans and they pulled the supreme upset.

I was at the Lions game on Sunday. They need some work, but I think they have some potential this season. I definitely think the new coach was a good decision.
