The one that is in theaters/on DVD now is really cool visually, was kinda bored with the story.

Graphically it astounds really, the great use of CGI really gives some parts that fast action pace that really grips ya. Story though, blegh... something about stand alone anime movies that just really can't get a story down well enough.

For about the same amount of viewing time another thing I'd suggest is Macross Zero. It's 5 episodes and the air battles are seriously just amazing.

Actually, I liked this movie a whole lot. As for the story, it doesn't quite compete with Cowboy Bebop's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", but it was still a good flick.

The premise is a world in violence. There's a super metropolis of peace made up of real and fake people. The fake people can't give birth, and can be killed by the government, the real people can and can't.

It's sort of a struggle by the fakes to bring about the perfect world where they arn't segrigated(sp?) by the reals. Pretty interesting. I know my description of it sucked though. Oh well.

The premise is great, the execution has issues.

My favorite scene was the one where the woman scientist confronted the soldiers with the handgun...
VERY well executed

Of course the part where Briarios rips that assasin cyborgs arm and beats her to death with it was intense as shit too
The CGI work was incredible
