I plan to move to Toronto from victoria in august/september for my third year of university at York.
I was wondering if anyone had any tips on finding an apartment and how I should go about it. What to watch for? When should I start looking?

Why don't you ask your University? Surely there's a housing department that answers these kind of questions all day long.

Another suggestion would be to just go to craigslist and find one based on photos. Or you could always just sublease something cheap for a month while you try to find something on a longer term basis.
