Higher salaries
Better trailers
Give them a bigger entourage
Once you get the cosmetic facility a face lift or implants works.
It's hard to get it going until the 40's or 50's when you get the better script facilities...the best way is to have them in higher grossing movies.

here are my tips
make your #1 star a director
(you can put him in shitloads of films without people getting tired of him)
Give them a crazy big entourage
make sure thier image is maxed, make sure thier paycheck is maxed, make sure thier trailer is big ( i usually put cars around the trailer, it maxxes the presitige of the trailer)
Place them in the marketing building whenever they have a break, have them always pump thier own movie as well
my director Alfred Hotchcick is 4 star in 1942
also get them drunk alot, when they are staggering around make sure you get them photographed
