Just curious if anyone is playing any of the free "not so up to date" MMORPGs lol, like Runescape, Dransik, Pristin Tale ect. ... Im kinda bored myself so lookin for somthin to get into for a while .... Any ideas?

Is Planetside free? I'd give that a shot. Luclin Emp Key and Shard camps have pretty much destroyed my enjoyment of EQ for a while.

used to be called Dransik, but i guess some new company took over the game and has been updating it more lately. ive been playing it a bit, still in a free beta period, theyve been doing lots of gm run events and stuff to try to bring players in that left before the name switch. graphics are outdated, but otherwise its kinda fun. kinda like an old UO clone...but free.

Yah I played that like a year or so ago, alot of the is the same with UO because alot of the dev's were ones who worked on the UO and Ultima games....But that was last year, i dunno if the devs changed when they get new name or what, I guess ill try it out though ....Is there any pvp in it btw ? The best thing bout UO was pvp, was great till f****n pub 16

Trying to download Knight Online, but since my stupid ISP changed the cable speeds to 1.5 Mb/sec downstream, but only 128Kb/sec upstream, I'm getting crap download speeds from bittorrent, since it thinks I'm stingy about sharing the file. Although my uploaded bytes is a lot bigger than my download anyway.

Oh and no planetside isnt free heh, its actually been out on shelves for a while now, i bought it months ago and played for a while, its pretty cool but...like every FPS it gets kinda boreing after playin it for hours upon hours a day for months ....

yeah there is PVP if you join one of the pvp servers, there are a few different rulesets avaliable (looting/non looting etc.). and from what i hear the new company kept all the same devs that were on it while it was Dransik, just a bigger budget company with more resources.

Bit Torrent my ass btw. This thing should be called Bit Trickle. After 4 hours, I've downloaded 20 meg, and had people upload 50 meg from me. It still says over 24 hours to finish downloading a 272 meg file. wtf.

Sounds like you struggle at basic bandwidth management. Cap your upload, downloads suffer.

I gave up on the bit torrent thing and found a direct download. I didn't cap my upload, it's just that the cable has highly asymmetric up/down speeds (1500 down/128 up). I attribute this to a plot by my ISP in partenrship with the RIAA to turn us into a nation of content consumers, rather than sharers or providers 
I'm not sure why it was so slow though. I'd think that it would be parameterised so I could download at least at the rate people were uploading from me. It appeared that I was able to download at only about 2/5 of the rate people were uploading, i.e. about the speed of a 56k modem.

That's wierd.. I get like 450KB down 45KB up, and usually pull 200+ down on a good torrent with only 3KB uploading.
