I know my neighbors connect at times, whats the easiest way to make it so its just not a free for all for the neighborhood?

Cover your house with aluminum foil.
Failing that, turn on WEP or preferably, WPA.

Is it very hard to setup? I thought it was diffucult for some reason so i never tried to turn it on.

real easy. Log into the wireless AP. Enable WEP, set a key. Also set the AP to only allow WEP connections. Open the wireless utility on your comp and enter the same key there. Done.

WEP is easy to set up, but if a person were really determined, they could break the encryption.
I would set up MAC address reservations in the switch, and only allow cards with that address to connect, in addition to using WPA
|

Changing the name of your network and turning off broadcasting in conjunction with a WEP key would be plenty for a home network. Neither requires much work.
