Because liberals made a huge issue about it, so our enemies seize on the opportunity. If the anti-american leftists handled it like I said they should (i.e. by saying these isolated incidents would be prosecuted and shutting the f**k up) then these dumbfucks wouldn't be making such a big deal. Riots and a couple dozen american deaths to follow. Thanks leftists!

This issue would not have gotten so f*****g out of control of the liberals didn't b***h and whine and make it such a huge f*****g deal, so the enemies siezed up the oppurtunity and got hundreds of Iraqi extremists freed from prison, most of which will go right back to the fighting in Iraq and killing more U.S. soldiers.

Actually the uptick in killings started EXACTLY when Kerry increased his anti-war rhetoric. Terrorists intentionally time these things. They have for decades. That's why I know there will be another wave of riots and killings. I guess Ted Kennedy wasn't content with killing just one girl.

There's plenty of Republicans who aren't for the death penalty, but yet if you're a Republican, you're supposed to be. There's also Democrats who are against abortion, but yet if you're a Democrat, you're supposed to be for abortion.

You may disagree with your party, but the fact remains that the democratic party as an organization (and I would say at leat 90% of leftists) have taken a destructive attitude towards America and are now costing lives and threatening the success of our nation through this conflict. If I were a Democrat and actually cared about America, I'd no longer be calling myself a democrat.

Hmm. Y'know, if Bush hadn't kept beating the "humanitarian" part of the war on Iraq into our heads, it might not have been such a big deal.
Here's the problem:
- Bush said a reason for the war was to lift the oppression of the Iraqis. This includes putting an end to things like basic human rights violations (I'm not talking accidental civilian deaths or anything)
- Folks in the field made the mistake of abusing prisoners
- Folks in the field made the mistake of getting caught.
- Bush is getting burned for it
Blame it all you want on the "liberals," but really, this is a pretty basic series of mistakes that were made and if they're so clueless as to make 'em, and get caught, well, too bad.
