Truth or false that Anarchy Online is free now? If it is true then I would like to be one of the lucky bastards to try it out. On the other hand if it is false then I have nothing to look forward to this next weekend. In any case, can you tell me so I can stop thinking about everything I can do?

In some ways this question has sense, but I am not sure that it is something that you can put this way. It is not the question if Anarchy Online is free or not, but you can ask about ways that you can access Anarchy Online free of charge. I am talking about free trial that helps you to get to know what Anarchy online is all about. I think that you can use this free program, and you will get access to most of the Anarchy online content. I don’t know about any other way to play this game completely for free.

You can play the basic version of anarchy online for free now Just go to the AO site and check it out .. If you'll get addicted you will have to pay for the expansions though.

I believe its only the standard anarchy + notum wars (not sl,ai, Le).. And no engine has not been updated.. but tons of new items with cool graphics have been insterted into the game ..

AO has always been free, at least for the amount of time that I've been there - over 5 years.
You can level a free trial account to 200, (paid accounts 220).
This is one of the most balanced Free Player games in existance today. In fact, there are Orgs (clans, guilds), that are comprised of Free Players who have been there as long as I have.
The only difference between the paid and free accounts is the items that you can use ingame. Paid accounts get access to a larger variety of weapons, armors, etc.

You will unlock the laast 2-3 expansions if u pay for it, which will yeild better items that basic free users cannot obtain.
