Seems like some of those brave americans aren't sure what they are fighting for anymore either.

The Iraqi Americans I have seen speaking out on the war so far are all for the war in Iraq and the removal of Sadaam Hussien.

One or two disgruntled people fragging people in a command tent (think office) does not constitute some massive morale problem in the army. The one guy they have detained was already pointed out to be a problem case, they didn't expect this of him or he never would have been in Kuwait to begin with.

PS: they've found scores of dead iraqi officers murdered with gunshots to the head in bunkers that were occupied by iraqi troops who surrendered.
They admitted that they murdered their own officers just so they could surrender.
The US soldier tossing a grenade was because he was an islamic actavist, those iraqi soldiers flatout murdered their officers so they wouldnt have to follow them.
One is someone who didnt belong there, the other is the troops flat out refusing to fight for their leaders.

No. I do not believe it indicates a problem within the forces in theater. The situation is intense and stress levels are high. People handle stress differently. There is no telling exacty how this man came to comit this act. More information will come in time.
It is reported he recently converted. He might have objections to killing his new muslim brothers. He might have been singled out, picked on or treated as an outsider because of it and snapped.
He might be a coward and hoped to use either the convert or objector angle in hopes of leaving the theater. We simply do not know until more facts are presented.
What I know is, that he commited a unthinkable crime (to a soldier) and if that f****r is left unguarded for 5 seconds.. He is a dead man.
