This game rocks. I hate FPS games and this is just tons of fun. There is just so many way to fight and vehicles to do it with. All the problems with the game have nothing to do with gameplay and will be easily fixed witht he first patch.

My favorite part is the badge / award / ribbon / rank system. It feels almost like an rpg in that sense.

yep BF2 is the shit all the changes they've made voip, squads, squad leader as a roaming spawn point, commanders ect just tip the scales making this the game of the year.
Its a thing of beauty

but they need to get the first patch out to squash some of the major buggs thats for sure

Can't play on anything less then a Geforce FX or ATi radeon 8500. The game literally will not start, as it requires full support for SM1.4. (geforce 4 only support up to 1.3)

So far the lowest I've gotten the game to actually run (note, run.. not play smoothly) is an Xp2000 and FX5200 and 1gig of ram. Looks like shit and plays like shit tho!

Mid range systems (ie xp3000,p4 3ghz, a64 3000) with a fx5900/ati 9800pro/6600GT, and 1 gig of ram actually play the game rather well with textures on medium (im talking 40+ fps in 1024x768) and a little bit of FsAA/AF. Switch those vid cards out with something a little more juicy and you can play with everything on at max.

Asside from the Shader Model/video card issue I find the game to be quite scaleable. Definitly not HL2 or even Doom3 in terms of scalability but its still decent.

Warning of course, DO NOT play this game with anything less then 1gig of ram. Anything lower then that and its going to be paging your HD to hell and back as it uses up 800+mbs of system memory while in game.
