Does the x-ray at the airport skrew up portable dvd players/laptops?
Do you put it through the x-ray machine, or do you hand the carrying bag to a security guy and they go through it?

CD players, Laptops, Shoes, Jackets, damn near anything loose, bags all go through the XRay machines. only thing that is subject to a hand search are A.) Medical supplies (in the event you have medication that can by some random act of god be possibly affected by X-ray) and B.) Film.

Film as in un-developed photographs.
I have put my digital camera, Laptop, DVD's and VHS's (in the rarity that I carry them) through the XRay machines no problems

Should be fine unless your camera uses film. Then just show them that its a film-style cam and they should be cool about it.

I PM'd Aandidar, but I guess everyone who isn't 100% sure what they can and can't take on planes, and want to know the whole protocol check out www.tsa.gov its the jack asses at the airport that frisk you to make sure no more insane f*****s try and blow up/crash planes into anything anymore

That explains why my Hong Kong photos came out s****y. I just got back two days ago and all of the photos are too grey or too light. I used the digital camera last time I went and I still don't like the digital cameras.
