Im playing Age of Conan, and I can see that the character collision is very good. Also, the item collision with the character is awesome. How did the developers managed to do that? Older games had big problems with the collision between characters and items? Im going to enjoy this game very much.

The collision detection was separately written from the first step in game development. In the beta testing of AoC game, there was no collision detection, so many of players were speaking against this game. In the final product, that flaw was modified. From that moment, players were very satisfied with the game, and gameplay. But, they were very impressed with collision detection.
