I once read that Age of Conan has the best city design seen so far in any game. is that true? I am in the process of choosing what MMORPG to play. The AoC is one of my favorites, but I do not know about the city design. I know that there are many lies circling the internet, and I need to have proven information.

You have read the correct information. City design in Age of Conan is the best that was ever developed. The details are just fantastic. Graphic designers did brilliant job with this and I hope that they will have many more successes as this one. In addition, the developers made this city almost like the real ones. You can find anything you want in the cities. I will never forget my amazement when I first saw the capital city of Age of Conan. It just cannot be described with words.

If i had the willpower to make it past tortage.. I'd let ya know.. The starting city is impressive.. limited small... but the lighting is done well, and all the quests tie in pretty good to the surroundings.

Never played AoC but also looking for something to replace WoW, any good places to view screenshots/movies in particular? Youtube and the official site has a few I know.

City design seems to have a lot of options in layout and look along with guild speicifc buidlings.

Normal NPC cites so far were ok, Old Tarantia is massive but is like a ghost town, admittedly they still have to populate them.
If you are talking about guild cities then unfortunately they are one of the many things that haven't appeared in beta yet, no matter what the devs try to announce about beta feedback being good for them. They are unseen so far.
