How will it work, the movement, given the fact that the direction form which an attack is delivered matters in this game? What I mean is, how will we be able to coordinate character movement (using the WASD keys, presumably) with those controlling the attack direction (presumably the arrow keys)? And where does the mouse come in?

Well, the developers did say the controls would be intuitive, so I wouldn't exepct anything too complicated. My guess would be (and yes, this is just a guess, I have no inside information sources) would be that you'll be using WASD to move around, but that mouse movement will handle the attacks – for example, a click and drag from top left to down right would cause and attack to be delivered in that direction.
