A guildie of mine that talks nonstop about eve online said that you dont really have fun until about a year in. I didnt really believe him of course but is that true it takes some time to get the full affect of the game?

Well it really depends on what you actually want to do, there are sooo many options from Low Sec Piracy to 0.0 pvp to invention/mining or even running complexes. I would first suggest run some missions and learn how to fly then figure out what you want to do for instance you might want to fly capitals some day so setup a skill plan and go for it.

It's an awesome game so diverse and will fit into your life's schedule if you "dont have the time to play"
Like the above poster said, figure out want you want a do, make a plan and go for it.
