You can get the expansions with out a problem.
You just can't pull cd keys out of your ass though.

Theoretically this works but supposedly Sony allows people to return opened boxes for refunds. I assume as soon as they get that box back they look up the key that was used and ban the account.
Just a thought though...

That's why you either take the label with the key off or destroy the inside jewel case cover, depending on the expansion.
Our RTV guy would never think to check for keys, but I'm sure Sony has a gander when they get the returns. (oh, and Sony does allow open-boxed returns, so be wary)

As someone who has bought expansions with stolen keys, and then had to explain to the high-school dropout at the return counter what was wrong with it while listening to her say "we don't take returns on opened software boxes" 100 times, I hope you go to jail, or at least have your account banned or burn in hell or something if you do this.

Make sure you destroy that CD-key too.
If they find an open package like that, they turn it in to Verant, who checks who used that key and they ban the account for theft.

god why does verant still have anything to do with this . there is no VI anymore with EQ it's only sony !!!!!!!!!

They don't always ban accounts like that. I got one of my accounts by returning my software and exchanging it as "defective". I used the cd-key and exchanged it for another copy saying it was defective, and blam.....a second account. Never got banned either. I had that account as a bazaar bot for quite a while. It stayed active until I cancelled it.
