Ok, so this topic came up over a big mac and some fries with my friends tonight. When your in the northern hemishpere and flush a toilet, it flushes clockwise, and in the southern, it flushes counter-clockwise. Now, what if you had a toilet positioned directly on the equator and flushed...which way would it go? clockwise? counter-clockwise? or would it just shoot poop water right up your ass?

I've never tried it, but supposedly, it goes straight down.

The funny thing is that water does not form a whirl pool when going down toilets. Or at least not any I have used. Sinks yes, baths yes, toilets no. However this question is always posed with toilets. Funny.

The direction in which the water jets are aiming dictate how the water swirls down a toilet, not which hemisphere it's in.

The way the water goes into our toilets produces a voretx that quickly sucks everything down the S shaped pipe. None of this swirling crap.
