nVidia
Let me explain why:
Had them both,ATI has like a billion problems
some games dont work on it(like stubbs the zombie)
and nvidia is far more strong and superior!
I have a 8800 GT And its great although there are much better
ones but this one has a pretty reasonable price and performance.
In conclusion i recommend:..........................................ATI
Lol nVidia obviously i was just kidding

Right now ATI is way behind nVidia on technology. Until ATI manages to catch up and actually give nVidia some form of competition we may see the speed of new quality video card series being produced. The same holds for AMD right now, they are a bit behind Intel at the moment.

So true.

Ati will probably jump back though and release some cards in the future that are way better than nvidia but time will tell

Personally, I go for nVidia, ATI doesn't work well with a lot of the games I play. Really depends on the games you play tbh.

Just out of curiousity, which is the average price of middle tie nvidia g.cards? I was looking forward to upgrade mine, but couldn't find anything with a good price/performance ratio.

As far as I know for the same performance on the paper ATI is cheaper than Nvidia BUT from my own experience I can tell that is not true Nvidia hardwares are far better, stable that AIT stuff

nVidia because they're behind almost all game, now. How many time have you seen their logo when launching a game? "The way it's meant to be played". They're sponsoring almost every game they can so they can have almost exclusivity for using certain graphic technologies. And you usually have better result with nVidia cards in those games.

But honestly, even if nVidia is better, i'm still 100% behind ATI because they are the ones who try to provide great and powerfull graphic cards for a democratic price. They've always tried to offer the lowest power-consumption like AMD do, they're still doing AGP cards for those who can't afford to upgrade to newest platforms. ATI is to socialism what nVidia is to fascist capitalism.

ATI hasn't been the same since the 9700 AGP days. Man that was such a kick ass card. Then PCI express came out and everything went downhill.

I had ATI 300X for the longest time, and it worked fine for old games like Unreal Tournament 2003 and Starcraft.

I then switched to Geforge9800GTX. No turning back. Nvidia for me. It does Photoshop applications extremely well despite what alot of app gurus advise.

The ATI 4x cards are beating the Nvidia 9x cards atm in framerates and they're cheaper too. But if you want something below those i recommend nvidia.
