Hearts go out to anyone who suffered from the catatrosphic event on 9/11/01. 2 years tomorrow... christ.. seems like yesterday...
I'll never forget it... in 2nd period and people walking down the hall talking about a plane crashing into the world trade center.... 3rd period we watched CNN the entire time...
Where were you during the event?

I was sitting in middle school (8th Grade) and heard some kids walking down the hall talking about a plane hitting the towers. Then later on hearing about a bomb at the Pentagon. Me being me I thought it was two small private planes and a pipe bomb.
My school was gay and did not let us watch any T.V. I first noted it was serious when I was picked up by my mom, sister and dad. My dad was not in uniform so I immediatly asked what's wrong. Then found out.

I slept in because I had an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon... I remember driving to the hospital at 10 something and noticing how weird it was not to see a single plane in the sky ( when at any given hour I can usually see 5-10 minimum )

I was taking a shit when I heard that an airplane crashed into the World Trade Center. Then I resumed taking a shit.

Were they Japanese cars? We could flatten Japan. It's not like we haven't done it before, and they just commit honorable suicide when they lose, instead of truck bombs and shit.

I was driving to school and listening to a local morning radio show (Drew & Mike, kinda gross-out hosts) when I heard the news. Drew is a pilot and he was saying 'Oh my god, that wasn't a little private plane. That's a commercial jet!' and I couldn't wait to get to school so I could find a TV or take a look on the internet for myself.
After class (maybe an hour later?) I heard the first tower had completely collapsed.

Hmm, I was in Tech. Some random kid ran like nuts over to the radio and turned it on. Teacher chased him but they were talking about the World Trade Center so the teach let us keep it on...then went upstairs and watched in my next class as both the towers fell...it was so damn scary, my dad was scheduled to leave a flight from boston that day...ya...that flight

I was in English class when the teachers daughter came in and talked to her and as soon as she was done the teacher was like "lets go to the library immediatly" (the only tv with cable was in there) and then they let out school early.

Looking back, I don't know how we all survived. I almost starved to death 4 times and narrowly avoided sniper fire twice. It was truly a pressing time, but things are better now. For awhile there I thought I would never eat a fresh meal again.
