I need a soundcard for the computer on my entertainment center. I have a 7.1 channel Pioneer amp that has both coaxial and optical inputs... which is better? What soundcard can I get that will work best for this system (Linux btw)? I have a Soundblaster Live atm w/ RCA connections and I'm always getting feedback out of the speakers.

7.1 is awesome
find some dvd audio tracks, it's amazing if you have and amp and speakers enough to support full 7.1

I have no clue i just always assumed a coax would always be worse as long as they are of like similiar quality.

For now I'm just using it to play music and DVD/DIVX.
