My buddy has 18 solar panels on the top of his house. He had them put on when he added a new 2 car garage to his property and said the entire solar setup cost him about 24k.
He average PG&E bill was in the $300 - $350/mo range and now he says it's down to around $75/mo which means about 8 years to pay off his investment.
