actually, it's 6 crackers in 1 minutes.
12 is clearly impossible.
The gag (or bet, depending on how you play it is):
Go to a bar, and bet someone $10-$20, that they can't eat 6 crackers in 1 minutes. The only stipulations are that:
a) They are saltine crackers (Ie: Premium plus)
b) No beverage can be consumed during, and your mouth must not contain liquid (besides natural saliva)
I've won approx $200 over the course of a couple years. I've lost once.

Yea, I do this on people sometimes. I have seen one person actually do it, and I am not entirely positive he made it in the 60 seconds (I am pretty sure it was around 65 seconds or so).
Funny as hell watching people try.

You'd get to 3 or 4 and say "um, f**k this, I know I can't do it".
3 or 4 is a hell of an accomplishment, 6 is nearly impossible.
I give up at 4 after 45 seconds realizing that I haven't swallowed even a tad of the 3rd, even though I've got my 4th in my mouth.

I'm a saltine machine. I'm convinced I could do it. I ate a bag of oyster crackers yesterday in like 3 minutes, so I'm sure this would be nothing.
But no one, and I mean no one, can eat 50 eggs.

You're the ones who bet $30 thinking you can do it, and are shocked when you can't finish 4.
Trust me, it sounds so simple, but the physics of it makes it nearly impossible:
1) You NEED saliva to swallow. You cannot swallow without it.
2) 2-3 Crackers will absorb all the liquid in a bowl of soup, how much saliva do you think you produce in 60 seconds? Certainly not a soup bowl's full
3) From premise 2 and 1, it is unlikely you'll swallow 4, let alone 4.
Go and get some crackers and come back and let us know (honestly) how you did.

I eat saltines sometime as a snack. I can eat 2-3 in a row with no problem /shrug. Gonna try the 6 cracker thing later...

Do you have to eat them one at a time or can you just shove all 6 in your mouth at once? Maybe if you chewed really fast you could swallow them before they dried your mouth out too much.

You can do anything to the crackers (that doesn't involve liquid) and eat them in any order/quantity.
Some guy bet me $20 he could do it, lost, then re-bet me he could do it, on the stipulation that he was allowed to grind them up into dust, so that he didn't have to chew them. I said fine. He lost again. Thx $40.

Dude with bread all you have to do is mold all 3 peices into 1 small ball, then eat. easy.
crackers on the otherhand.....

I've personally seen several people do the cinnamon thing. That, while nasty, isn't a big deal.
Watching someone drink a full (big) bottle of Tabasco in under 20 minutes was funny though. There was major puke after that one (but he did drink the entire thing).
